Louis Vuitton is one of the most popular handbags designers in the world and its models are truly iconic. The company is famed for its tradition and innovation sense. Every product it launches is defined by luxury, elegance and timeless style. One of its most recent novelties is the launch of the Mon Monogram service. This is a clever name for the option of personalizing your LV handbag, a service which is available on its online site to any shopper.
On the LV page there is a section where you can personalize your Louis Vuitton bag. There are over 200 million possible combinations for creating your perfect designer purse. The basic models that are available for the Mon Monogram service are the Neverfull, Keepall Bandouliere 45, Keepall Bandouliere 50, Keepall Bandouliere 55, Keepall Bandouliere 60, Speedy Bandouliere 25, Speedy Bandouliere 30, Speedy Bandouliere 35, Speedy Bandouliere 40, Speedy 25, Speedy 30, Speedy 40, Speedy 35, Keepall 45, Keepall 50, Keepall 55, Keepall 60, Passport Cover, Small Ring Agenda Cover, Zippy Organiser, Zippy Wallet, Sarah Wallet.
How does it work? You first choose the model you want to personalize. Once you have done this, the site allows you to apply on the product up to three initials, the type of inside, vertical or diagonal stripes. There are up to 17 colors to choose from and the stripes can be only in a two color combination. The webpage also displays a simulation of the purse so you can see if it is what you want or not.
As with any other famous handbag model launched on the market, there are numerous replica manufacturers that started replicating the LV Mon Monogram purses. The problem is that not all of them get it right. Recently I came across one of the worst knockoffs I have seen in my life. This is an imitation of the Louis Vuitton Neverfull GM Mon Monogram and the pictures that support my opinion are included in this review.
There are several details that bother me. The first one you will notice is the poor quality of the Monogram Canvas which is too rigid and stiff thus making the purse look awful. Then there are the beige leather trims on the upper part of the bag and those two strips positioned vertically which connect the handles with the bottom of the bag. The shine of the leather, the irregular stitching and bad finishing make it obvious for anyone that this is just another poor replica of the Neverfull. Plus, the Neverfull has never had vertical stripes located under the handles. Usually, on the Mon Monogram these are positioned right in the center of the bag’s body and there is just one set of strips; not two or three.
Getting back to the Monogram Canvas, I must mention the fact that this Mon Monogram replica model uses a Multicolor Monogram Canvas. And this is completely wrong. Louis Vuitton has never offered its personalized Mon Monogram purses in the Multicolor version. These products are available only in the classic neutral Monogram Canvas materials. A few people actually know that LV discontinued all its Multicolor Monogram products in the summer of 2015. These are no longer available in stores. So the biggest and most obvious defect of this Louis Vuitton Multicolor Mon Monogram bag is that it does not exist. LV has never manufactured such a model.
Another very obvious and bothersome issue of this replica purse are the central vertical stripes. As mentioned earlier, Louis Vuitton offers the possibility of applying vertical or diagonal stripes on your Mon Monogram personalized model, but you only have the option of combining maxim two different colors out of its 17 available colors. You can’t mix 3 different colors as seen on this extremely poor quality fake LV bag. Actually, if you know a thing or two about designer purses you will notice that the stripes used on this knockoff are very similar to the famous Gucci trademark green-red-green web stripe that are usually applied vertically on the center of Gucci bags or on the handles. Most likely, a fake Gucci purse is missing its stripes now.
We get another big shock when we take a look at the inside of the Louis Vuitton Neverfull GM Mon Monogram replica bag. This is hideous and I rarely use this word. The brown paper looking fabric that is used as lining has a poorly applied inside pocket with a flimsy zipper and the interior bottom is rumpled and uneven. It looks like they’ve used too much material and as they couldn’t respect the bag’s shape they decided to stuff it inside with brute force. It looks awful like a cheap $5 bag sold by a street vendor. I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing such a thing.
Even the brand’s tag attached to the bag’s handle has nothing to do with the genuine thing. It is made from the wrong material, in the wrong format, wrong colors and wrong wording. Everything about it is wrong.
The images speak for themselves. This replica is horrible and it is completely different than the genuine Louis Vuitton Neverfull GM Mon Monogram. It has been manufactured by someone that has no clue about how an authentic looking LV purse looks like. Do yourself a favor and stay away from such inferior quality knockoffs which look fake from miles away. Always but always, before buying a designer item do a few background checks to find out what are the main characteristics of the product. This will save you from a lot of disappointment.
